Laydin came to visit for five days. It was AMAZING to see her! I’ve missed her so much. Caleb came down a couple of days later. The whole family was together in Paradise! Laydin and Caleb hadn’t seen each other in about seven years, so it was a VERY happy reunion!
Laydin rented a truck so we would be able to go on adventures whenever we wanted (Right now the villas are hurting for transportation, but that’ll be rectified this week!) We covered a LOT of territory and got lost many times! LOL But we had a blast.
Our first adventure was a trip to the botanical gardens. It was GORGEOUS!
This was on top of the roof. It was just amazing.
There was a lot to see and I was just absorbing so not a lot of photos. LOL.
So the botanical gardens are quite a ways south of town. We then drove through Puerto Vallarta and way up north of town to the crocodile sanctuary. MAN! Did I get us lost a couple of times! LOL But Laydin was a trooper and we finally found it. It’s a sanctuary for injured animals to rehabilitate. We saw more than just crocodiles, tho we saw them, too.
We had a vulture following us around that made me more than a little nervous. LOL
Of course, we also spent time in our beautiful, heated pool

We spent Tuesday driving around with a realtor. He showed us all the neighborhoods in town that aren’t tourist oriented. Saw some beautiful places and some not so beautiful places. All good. We still don’t know if we’re living in town or up here in the jungle. Lots of land for sale up here cheap cheap! So we’ve got options.
Wednesday, Laydin announced she wanted Italian food. We tried three different places on Maps and none of them had any restaurant there, much less Italian. We decided to try one more before giving up. OMG! So we found it and went in. We sat down and looked at the menu – All Vegan. And like, NOTHING that resembled Italian. So I told the waiter we wanted Italian and he said to take the elevator and go up the stairs. OMG! So glad we did. It was delicious food and the view was unbelievable.
After lunch, we went to one of our favorite watering holes, Mama Caguama’s. It’s a TINY restaurant that we tried last year simply cuz it had a rainbow flag! Great food, good drinks, and games! Last year, after dinner we played Trivial Pursuit! Good time. Here’s a bit of art from right across the street
I miss Laydin in a BIG way, but Caleb is still here with me, which is nice. He’s out hiking along the river at the moment (It runs right across the street from the Villas.)
So, life continues to be good, and SAFE, for now. I love helping to manage the Villas. It’s like a dream come true!
